I’m reading Mildred Pierce at the moment and, as it’s a little different from the movie and it’s set in the 30s, I’m very much picturing 1931 Joan as 1931 Mildred. It’s cute and her working girl done good roles of that period are perfect for her.

Interesting choice of picture to go with the quote, seeing as she looks exactly like the girl next door here, so vulnerable and not at all like her ‘Crawford’ self. I love her freckles so much.
