My mother works in the Brontë Parsonage Museum and every day she gets to look out on the moors. In fact, she’s recently moved closer to work and she can see them from her home. It’s September and they will now be purple, every shade, as far as the eye can see. It only lasts for a few weeks each year but people flock to it. To me, moorland, especially that I’ve grown up with (Haworth moor, Ilkley moor, Stanbury moor etc.), is beauty personified.
